( The Katran Swamp - the lower wastes )
Out past the bell-end of the GloomTower, out past the Eltnen Fortress and out pas the SpireLands, the land descendes into a Putrid Swamp, a BarrenLands, stretches far out below the valley.
the mists settle and precipitate here,
a macro-climate of its own is
oroduced down here - where,
the mists of the lake Ulse-Ou,
and the River Kai,
flow through ~
the Swamp valley bubbles with
a frenzy .frog-calls, birdsong,
the moist succulent marshes,
life regenerated, seas of water-lilies,
bounce to and fro in the warm-breezes,
birds are migrating through the Swamp-plateau;
faraway, strange things must be happening...
the swamp slugs are liable - clumsy?
since of their giant-size, more dangerous then
they seem, stick to high ground, stay away
from groups of the slugs.

But this isn't all... the swamp-spirits hold secrets, they whisper secrets to
tell ... things they hav to share.... things in common...
THis Katran swamp-aland.... It is meant to be hidden....
This is a lost-land. dissapeared from the keen-eye
of the expansive gloom-city-empire.
- The swamp-valley heaves and swamys, andpulls & tugs at you, - the mere temperature, the moistness,
~ the humidity is too much ~
strange white flower blossom in the
night-swamp-aor;
creatures scutter
about, in the moonlight -
the winds, joyously playful,
refreshingly damp.
.... There is a path down here through the Swamp-Grove,
the glow of the Amber-light, the diffuse Green, swamp- foliage, screened, across a sinking valley
of vines - roots, leaves, branches,
through the mists you notice someone;
the lake seems quiet, serene. Someone is living here,
~ somehow, primitively, someone primitive?
But, intelligent, even knowing.
strange lights can be seen from the distance, deeper in
the forest... safest answer... we can talk to this one who lives here
the way down into the Swamp, fills one with dread.
~the air is thick & moist. both cold waters, torrents of humd air, around the dark swamp, it stinks.
But life, not in the air, but the waters, plants, overgrown organic structures,
sinking into the depths of Planet Folorn,
Kavvan swamp. a vast wet place,
of unknown certainty.
lost to the ages...
this hostile dark cavernous world;
- belit by a shallow sun.
sent into daily near-darkness by the Dense Tropicos.

The swamps entree is wallowed under a hazy-low sky... the way in seems obscured. , overgrown with Wetpools, Branch-tangles... Yet, the structures you came in by, , Seem here. Similiar... Stoned-Stairs and StoneWalls, lead
back across the Chasm: You may return here, back through the Gate, up the Steps, back to the LowerSwamp & the Naturalis Lands

the Katran swamps portray a seemingly vast sprawling river and swamp system of drains, dams, Profuse Bog plants and wildlife infuse the environment in all directions, the swamp valley is teeming with chattering insects, a humid, crazed uneding call - alien life.

This is an unfathomable land. -֍ swirls of turquoise-green Fog envelop the world down here. Brown-ferns sway in the wind-fog. darkened clouds bellow and crackle over dark, rocky twisted waters.
where entwined undervines grow.... the mesh of an old puzzletree forest, the chaos world down here fulfills its own destiny, Amuck with a seeping, blighted swamp. the Swampmud bubbles away contently, plethora of insects buzzing hurriedly in he dusklight.
, fresns sway to the winds, ominous calls lark on the air.
this is the underswamp, the lower zones.
the tangled masses forming a string of meshed webs of vines,
creating lattices, platforms, semi-present waterworlds.
Lilies of the water grow amongst the rains, the bitter lake cascades of waterfalls - This is the Katran Swamp.
the stairs of the OldWorld ~ lead into the SwampThicket;
a fern gulley, curkled, blasted & mystical rockvalleys,
turned by the torrential mudslides,
the Men of Old were Lizards; blessed themselves into
enchanted form.
and then send themselves off to distant places;
they made valleys of strange stone structures,.... this worl dd leads off intodakrness- the dark abyss,
the Swamp smells bad. & rotten., it is a place of slugs.
leeches, parasitic root-dwellers of massive size,
snakes aplenty, giant snake calamaties.
monstosities of nature,
weirder things even lurk in the dark depths.
the Katran Swamp swallows, perilous,takes, not gives...
but perhaps we can make passage through?
