The Northern Woods

the snow crunches satisfyingly
under your boots as you walk,
its been a long day,
These woods sure are peaceful,
quiet, nobody around,
you see the breath as you breathe
around you,
dusk is setting in;
the forest is eireely quiet,
too quiet,
snow piles up around in convaves. 
its still snowing, but not as much
the canopy is providing cover
from the wind and snow.
You wonder why you are
here..
the villagers know
these woods.
they collect mushrooms,
and firewood & timber.
but its not to be trifled with;
the worldsoul would enter
agony, if the forest was lost.
the winds howl, but not a soul.
so quiet, and personal.
an introspective bright world.
a conversation can be held,
with the surrounding forest,
it knows you well,
its your friend,
no lonliness when alone,
just nature is perfect company.
                   The paths fork Up (left)
                  or they go right (below).
                    you can make a choice.
                     both seem to lead into
                   deeper forest. it i hard
to discern through all the fog.
